Senior Accountant

Our client, a successful and growing retail Bakery chain, is currently seeking an Accounting Manager/Staff Accountant to be based in Addison, TX.

Position Summary:
The Accounting Manager will be responsible for all areas of financial reporting. Working closely with the Controller, this position will develop and maintain accounting principles, best practices, and systems for collecting, analyzing and reporting information. This person must have a strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). They will also be responsible for assisting in the audit, ledger preparation, and supporting managers across teams with financial procedures.
This role has “very broad shoulders” and will support all departments through various tasks and must have a “Whatever it Takes” attitude.
  • Responsible for success of accurate and timely of month-end close cycle.
  • Develop and maintain accounting practices and procedures to ensure that all financial documents are accurate in a timely manner.
  • Work with Controller and CFO to review and analyze financial reporting.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
  • Follow and comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements.
  • Facilitate monthly meetings with Controller to review performance results with department
    heads to ensure organization stays on track with financial goals and expectations.
  • Acts as liaison with tax and audit firm as needed.
  • Support interim and year-end-audit as needed.
  • Work independently and collectively to achieve stated financial goals of organization.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge and experience with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Restaurant industry experience a plus
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Access)
  • Familiarity with general ledger systems a plus (Acumatica preferred)
  • Ability to present daily cash positions and produce weekly reporting, projections and a complete monthly cash forecast
  • Team oriented
  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Education/Certifications and Work Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from accredited university
  • CPA preferred
  • 5 -7 years of Accounting Experience, with preferably working closely the CFO or Controller in prior roles
  • Base salary range of $65,000-$85,000 (depending on experience)
