Main Focus

The Director of Training and Development is responsible for improving the productivity of all of the organizations employees. He or she drives training initiatives, identifies areas of improvement and devises solutions. The Director of Training and Development reports to the Director of Operations.

Key Accountabilities
The Director of Training & Development is accountable for ensuring the following:
  • All managers understand the culture, quality standards, product, operating systems, and procedures in order to carry out daily tasks and effectively lead hourly staff
  • Knowledge and skill gaps are identified and addressed in a timely manner
  • The training program achieves desired objectives in a cost-efficient manner
  • Supervises new manager (MIT) training program, to include a formal evaluation system that measures individual achievement of learning objectives, validates skill/knowledge development, and assesses cultural fit.
  • Develops and maintains productive relationships with restaurant management & staff, trainers, executive team, and partners.
  • Provides support as required to ensure achievement of department objectives.
  • Actively contributes towards creating an enjoyable work environment both at the office and in the field.
  • Seeks out opportunities to continually develop personal knowledge and skills to positively impact the organization.
  • Supports the company’s objectives through effectively influencing appropriate audiences.  Looks for win/win solutions for company, and employees. Treats everyone with respect, courtesy and kindness
  • Provides operational, sales, training and marketing support for multiple units
  • Supports the introduction of new products, procedures, marketing initiatives, training development, equipment and any other corporate programs.
  • Develops creative, resourceful solutions to problems and take appropriate action to solve problems.  Effectively manages conflict.
  • Responsible for the successful openings of new restaurants as well as provide support of the existing locations. Occasional overnight travel will be required
  • Keeps up to date and expert in the field  
  • Hands-on, lead by example work ethic 
  • Maintains expertise in areas such as sales, merchandising, production, quality, and compliance. Can perform individual and group training proficiently in all areas of operations.
  • At least 2 years Multi-unit Training accountability experience with a High-volume($4M minimum) national or regional Full-Service restaurant chain REQUIRED
  • Highly motivated, self-directed and results-oriented, with the proven ability to solve complex problems
  • Outstanding skills in leadership, interpersonal communication, and staff development
  • Able to identify opportunity areas and create plans for action
  • Proven track record in growing sales, managing budgets and cost controls to optimize profits and ensure success
Salary Range & Benefits
  • $90,000 – $100,000 plus bonus & auto allowance
