Our client, an iconic Detroit pizza restaurant chain, is currently seeking experienced District Manager candidates for the Detroit Metro area. The District Manager will work to create productive working teams in our restaurants who are committed to the company’s success. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the companies’ vision and, establishing benchmarks for restaurant management teams and implementing policies and programs that will help those teams achieve their goals.
The District Manager will also be in charge with collaborating marketing team members to develop marketing materials designed to help the district meet or exceed budgeted sales goals. He/she will possess the ability to think independently, act in a manner to enhance the image, ethics, and professionalism of the company, and cooperate with the executive team on administrative and accounting matters.

Today, more than 72 years since the introduction of "The Original Detroit Style Square Pizza,” and with 12 locations throughout metro Detroit, Buddy's Pizza continues to serve Detroit's #1 square pizza, made from scratch soups, and our celebrated Antipasto salad. Over time we have added a variety of items to our menu including gluten-free pizza, multi-grain crust, pastas, burgers, sandwiches and more - each prepared just as they would have been in 1946 — with the freshest ingredients and an acute attention to detail. One of the secrets to Buddy's success has always been our dedicated, hardworking staff. Many of whom started off at Buddy's original location now take pride in keeping Buddy's traditions alive at the other metro Detroit locations. 

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for oversight of approximately 6 restaurants.
  • Monitor P&L reports for each restaurant and develop effective ways to maximize profitability, and fill in any gaps between actual performance and budgetary projections.
  • Analyze and evaluate monthly Profit and Loss statements with all management personnel during monthly management meetings in each restaurant within the district.
  • Set quarterly and annual objectives and priorities, and develop plans to accomplish established goals.
  • Prioritize restaurant performance issues to make certain that the issues most directly affecting profitability are addressed first.
  • Maintain high levels of morale by consistently reinforcing the excitement of the management bonus program and other incentive programs that are implemented.
  • Develop potential Restaurant Mangers for promotions. Provide one-on-one tutoring, role modeling, developmental job assignments, and guided self-study to develop General Managers.
  • Responsible for overall turnover and retention.
  • Responsible for the effective implementation of technologies.
  • Assists in the development and subsequent supervision for the implementation of strategic company marketing and operational plans.
  • Assists in the creation of training material and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Support new restaurant openings as necessary.
  • Experience:  Minimum 5 years restaurant industry as a Multi-Unit Leader.
  • Candidate must possess strong people skills, planning and organizational skills, and teaching and coaching abilities. Excellent knowledge of operational performance.
  • Detailed knowledge of all aspects of Profit & Loss statements and the ability to understand and create budgets.
  • Excellent coaching, training, and development skills.
  • Comfortable utilizing restaurant specific technologies such as scheduling, onboarding, pre-order systems, and POS platforms.
  • Experience with third-party delivery programs.
  • Great verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Possess strong organizational and decision-making skills.
  • Work well in fast-paced setting.
  • Willing to travel throughout the market to each restaurant in Michigan.
  • Able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
  • ServSafe Certified.
  • $70-80K base salary, plus bonus
