Our client is offering an exciting career opportunity for a results-driven Director of Finance & Accounting candidate to join a successful, growing Full-Service concept with a strong commitment to guest service. The right candidate should have a proven track record of delivering results and a strong background in financial analysis, budgeting & accounting.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Director of Finance & Accounting will oversee financial analysis, payroll, cash reporting, and banking for the company. The director will conduct financial analysis and assist with coordinating the company-wide budget process in addition to overseeing the payroll and cash reporting departments.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Financial Analysis – Conducts financial analysis and modeling regarding key performance indicators, benchmarks, pricing, capital investments, contract negotiations, significant cost changes, and other matters with management and chief financial officer.
  • Payroll - Supervises Payroll staff and processes bi-weekly payroll, ensuring that all processes are executed appropriately and in a timely manner with proper controls in place to ensure accuracy. This includes overseeing the 401k and benefit deductions process and ensuring that payroll journal entries are booked accurately.
  • Cash Reporting/Receipts - Oversees the company’s cash reporting process. This includes proper booking of sales, gift cards, cash receipts, bank reconciliations, change order processing and credit card reconciliations.
  • Treasury Management – Oversees company banking relationship, monitor cash balances, bank reconciliations, wire transfers, ACH transactions, change orders and banking costs to ensure company is using best products/procedures to minimize costs.
  • Budgeting – Experience coordinating a companywide budget process, forecasting and creating detail level budgets.
  • Continuously looks for improvements in operational processes and designs and implements those initiatives.
  • Conducts work planning, estimation and prioritization to optimize performance of team

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration.
  • Ideal candidate has 5 to 10 years of experience in restaurant/ hospitality industry
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or MBA preferred
  • Previous experience as an accountant, financial analyst, accounting supervisor, or
  • Superior computer skills required; experience in accounting software and Microsoft
    Office Suite; Excel, Access, database, or other system knowledge
  • Experience conducting financial analysis, creating budgets and working with
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards,
    and state/national regulations
  • Able to work well with senior executives and team, as well as mentor/lead other team
  • Starting base salary of $80,000 to 90,000(depending on experience)
  • Annual bonus of $15,000
